ODYSSEY

A comprehensive resource on financial and digital safety for older adults: an online course, blog catalogue, videos, methodology and workshop activities. We start by explaining what the project is about, then guide you to the right modules and topics.

No registration, available in 3 languages, with large text, clear navigation and real-life scenarios.

ODYSSEY organises knowledge instead of mixing everything together

This website is structured so you can immediately see where to find answers. The Course guides you module by module. The Blog organises topics into categories. The Videos show specific scenarios. The Methodology explains where we source our content and why these areas matter most.

Why this is needed

Scammers exploit technology, emotions and time pressure. That is why we need a platform that not only warns, but teaches pattern recognition and proper responses.

46% of older adults in Poland have encountered a scam attempt
PLN 156 million in reported losses among older victims in 2024
260,000 cyber incidents recorded in Poland in 2025
57% of Hungarian internet users have encountered cybercrime

Every type of content has its own place

This was a key principle: first you see what a section is about, and only then do you go into the details.

Modules are listed separately. You can see the topic, scope and whether a given part is already active.

Best starting path: Module 1, the AI article and the BLIK article

If you are new to the site, you do not need to read everything from start to finish. First, see Module 1 on recognising scams, then the guide on deepfakes and investments, and then the article on safe online banking and BLIK.

Frequently asked questions

Key information about the project, written simply and without technical jargon.

What is the ODYSSEY project?

ODYSSEY is an international educational project implemented under the Erasmus+ programme (KA210-ADU). Its goal is to protect older adults (60+) from scams, manipulation and fraud, both online and offline.

Is participation free?

Yes. All project activities, including workshops, the online course, videos and educational materials, are completely free. The project is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme.

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. The website and materials are designed so you can go through them step by step, even without much digital experience.

What should I do if an older person becomes a scam victim?

Contact the bank immediately and block account access. Report the incident to the police and the relevant authorities. Do not blame the victim. Scammers use pressure and emotions professionally.
